Dubbed as “Galapagos of North America” by Jacques Cousteau, it has a rich marine and terrestrial biodiversity with many species found nowhere else on earth. Unfortunately, the Sea of Cortez faces many threats due to unplanned development, over-fishing, pollution, and poaching of sea turtles and other rare species. Your gift will help us promote marine conservation and coastal habitat protection throughout this ecologically fragile region by supporting Mexican environmental non-profits committed to addressing a wide range of marine and terrestrial conservation issues facing the Sea of Cortez. |
